Azure (Dark Blue), a ship's wheel or between an arc of three mullets in chief and an arc of three mullets in base Argent and charged with an escutcheon paly of thirteen Argent and Gules with a chief Azure.
CREST
On a wreath of the colors Or and Azure, the silhouette of a battleship affront of the second upon the waves of the sea Argent in front of a cutlass and a saber points to base saltirewise of the like, the saber hilted Gold.
MOTTO
On a scroll Azure doubled Or, the motto "FORWARD FOR FREEDOM" inscribed in Gold letters.
SEAL
The coat of arms emblazoned in full color upon a white oval enclosed by a blue collar edged on the outside with gold chain and bearing the inscription "USS WISCONSIN" above and "BB 64" below in gold letters.
SHIELD
Dark blue and gold are the colors traditionally associated with the Navy. The ship's wheel represents navigation and leadership and reflects the USS WISCONSIN's global capabilities and seaworthiness. The smaller shield, from the United States Coat of Arms, represents our national heritage and appears on the Wisconsin State flag. During World War II, the USS WISCONSIN-a virtual floating fort-played a vital part in the establishment of U.S. naval power as second to none. She earned five battle stars for her World War II service and one for her outstanding performance during the Korean War.
CREST
The ship's silhouette is that of a battleship, designed to combine the largest guns with the strongest armor in order to inflict and absorb tremendous damage. The crossed sword and cutlass represent the combat readiness of the officers and enlisted personnel aboard the USS WISCONSIN.
